MILLPWR ®Advantages
Powerful, Yet Easy to Use
From the moment you power up your MILLPWR
system, you'll know that it was built with convenience in mind.
You'll appreciate the exceptional clarity of the large, full-color LCD
display and how all the main functions are well organized and within
easy reach.
But the real convenience lies in MILLPWR's capabilities. Use MILLPWR
as a digital readout (DRO), as a programmable control, or both.
It's powerful enough to handle any job and easy enough for anyone to
operate. No prior programming experience is necessary. |
|
Choose from
preset milling functions.
Standardized
menus make it easy for you to program common features like lines, arcs,
pockets, bolthole patterns, islands and spirals. To add a feature
to your program, simply press a function key and then follow the
prompts. MILLPWR also includes an 'engrave' option for engraving alphanumeric characters vertically, horizontally, diagonally or along an arc.
|
Perform complex calculations. Use MILLPWR's
built-in calculator to solve geometry and trigonometry problems.
Save time and avoid errors by transferring results directly into your
part program. |
Efficient and Productive
Eliminate repetitive, tedious and time-consuming setups. Use
MILLPWR to mill arcs, blends and circles in any size, shape or pattern your
print requires without setting up rotary tables or other devices.
You can also save time with MILLPWR's 'skew' feature, which enables you to set up a workpiece without
aligning it perfectly parallel along the X- and Y-axes. MILLPWR will compensate for the angle offset from start to finish.
Save time with easy editing features.
Edit
individual steps or merge whole or partial programs that you've already
created. Easily manipulate programs with 'repeat,' 'rotate' and
'mirror' features. Other editing functions include:
- Explode - 'explode' a program step into several, more detailed steps for easier editing
- Reverse step - switch the begin/end points and tool offset of any step
- Reverse path - reverse a continuous tool path
- Change steps - change or edit the depth, offset and feed rate of several steps simultaneously
- Delete steps - erase single or multiple steps
- Copy/move steps - duplicate or rearrange steps
Reduce programming time with import/storage capabilities. With MILLPWR's DXF file input feature, you can import geometry directly from a CAD file into MILLPWR resulting in faster programming and fewer errors. After the file's been loaded, you have the option of saving it on MILLPWR's internal memory, on a 3 1/2" floppy disk or on your PC (via an RS-232 port) for easy retrieval later on.
|
Preview each step with immediate-part-view graphics. As you create a program, MILLPWR
automatically shows you a graphic representation of each step.
Seeing the program as it develops makes it easy to correct trouble
spots before you machine. |
Versatile
Program milling and drilling depths.
With available motion for the Z-axis, now you can program MILLPWR to mill at or drill to a specified depth automatically.
Mill and program simultaneously.
Use the 'teach' feature to create a program as you manually machine a part then run the program for every part thereafter.
Reliable and Accurate
Mill with precision.
MILLPWR is a closed-looped system with positioning feedback provided by
ACU-RITE precision glass scales (2µm/0.0001" resolution). Because
glass is an inherently durable material, ACU-RITE precision glass
scales resist changes in size, shape or density due to temperature and
humidity variations. Their stability ensures accuracy as fine as
±1.5µm (0.00006"), earning them an industry-wide reputation for
excellence in measurement and positioning technology.
| In fact, ACU-RITE precision glass scales include a
fundamental measuring level 10 times finer than the nearest alternative
encoder technology ensuring the most accurate positioning
possible. |
|
Built Shop Tough
Mill with confidence.
MILLPWR is a complete, durable system that includes ground and hardened
ballscrews and powerful DC brushed servo motors. The
sturdy operator console features a 10" flat-panel, color LCD display; a
built-in floppy disk drive; a remote stop/go switch; and all the
required installation and mounting hardware.
Every MILLPWR
system includes components that have been designed, tested and
manufactured to withstand the elements of contamination found in even
the harshest machine shop environment. A conformal coating is
applied to the reading head on each ACU-RITE precision glass scale to
prevent coolants and other materials from eroding contact points
between electronic components and the circuit board. Die-cast
metal enclosures, sealed keypads, and recessed interlocking lipseals
further protect the system from metal chips and other contaminants.
Technologically Advanced
Count on ACU-RITE's precision glass scales.
ACU-RITE
precision glass scales are built with optical-quality glass and a
photoelectronic reading head that slides along the glass and
illuminates a chrome line pattern etched into the scale.
Photodetectors read the pattern and send an electronic signal to the
control thousands of times during every inch of travel.
Quickly reestablish workpiece zero.
MILLPWR also includes Position-Trac, a unique feature that enables you to
easily, quickly and accurately reestablish workpiece zero after power
loss.
Position-Trac
uses a precise, distance-encrypted line pattern that's been placed onto
each ACU-RITE precision glass scale included with MILLPWR.
Proprietary software decodes the line pattern, which then allows you to
accurately reestablish workpiece zero from any position.
Profitable and Affordable
Put MILLPWR to work for you. Since its introduction, MILLPWR
has increased the production and profits in tool and die facilities,
job shops and manufacturing companies throughout the world. Use
the payback formula below to see how fast MILLPWR will pay for itself in your shop.
Payback Time = I + ABC
Where:
I = dollars invested A = machine revenue in $/hr B = hours per day worked C = percentage increase in productivity
I = $12,325.00
A = $45.00
B = 8 hours
C = 66%
12,325  (45 x 8 x .66) = 52
Payback = 52 days
