Replacement heads for Bridgeport, Topwell, First, Supermax mostTaiwan made Bridgeport clones. A complete system. The head will bolt directly onto Bridgeport or Bridgeport clone rams. Mount the drive on the back of the column and connect your power supply. The head is fully wired and ready to go. Only 3 moving parts in the direct drive belt housing. About 85 fewer parts than a vari-disk type head. Almost zero maintenance. Speeds up to 6,000 RPM. These heads are ideal for upgrading quill type CNC machines because they can be controlled by most CNCs. We use the same vector drives on our CNC mills and machining centres They can orient and reverse fast enough for rigid tapping. Click here to download the heads catalog. This diagram shows the moving parts in the top half of the head. It is in fact a lot like today's modern machining centers with the drive train consisting of 1) the motor shaft and pulley There are about 85 fewer moving parts. Maintenance is near zero and is normally only a replacement of the timing belt after years of service. |
